    JTA concerned that shelterees remain at some schools months after Hurricane Melissa

    President of the Jamaica Lecturers’ Affiliation (JTA), Mark Malabver has raised concern concerning the scenario at faculties, that are nonetheless getting used to accommodate shelterees following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

    Mr. Malabver highlighted faculties in western parishes which suffered the brunt of harm when the Class 5 hurricane made landfall in October final 12 months.

    Talking throughout an interview with IRIE FM Information, Mr. Malabver expressed concern concerning the security of scholars particularly on the main faculty degree.

    He additionally identified that the Ministry of Native Authorities and the Workplace of Catastrophe Preparedness and Emergency Administration have missed many deadlines because it pertains to relocating shelterees.
