    JLP calls for Campbell’s resignation amid PNP/KSAMC scandal – Jamaica Inquirer

    The governing Jamaica Labour Get together (JLP) has known as for the fast resignation of Folks’s Nationwide Get together (PNP) Normal Secretary Dr Dayton Campbell, citing his involvement in what the JLP has labelled the PNP/Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Company (KSAMC) corruption scandal.

    Campbell has confronted intense scrutiny since a latest media report linked him and different PNP associates to the alleged misuse of public funds on the KSAMC to assist representatives aligned with the parliamentary Opposition.

    Former PNP Central Kingston consultant Lawrence Rowe has additionally been implicated within the scandal after he reportedly questioned Campbell concerning the allocation of funds.

    Talking at a press convention from the JLP’s headquarters on Belmont Street in St Andrew, Morgan famous that the allegations, revealed in a voicenote, instructed that the KSAMC could have been distributing taxpayers’ cash on a partisan foundation to finance the PNP’s electoral ambitions.

    In direct response to Rowe’s inquiry concerning the distribution of funds by the KSAMC, a voice, that seems to be that of Campbell might be heard saying, “I can inform you why that occurred. It’s as a result of they put more cash within the two (municipal) divisions that we’re going to have by-elections in. Suh yuh going to have a by-election in Chancery, an’ yuh gwain have a by-election in Denham City. Suh they put some more cash within the two divisions which can be going to have the by-elections.”

    The Chancery Corridor Division in North West St Andrew, the Denham City Division in West Kingston, and the Olympic Gardens Division in West Central St Andrew at the moment lack representatives as a result of passing of councillors and the promotion of a councillor to a Member of Parliament (MP).
