    JFJ points to the need for more community based intervention by state agents

    Human rights foyer group Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ) has famous the necessity for extra neighborhood based mostly intervention by state brokers, as a part of efforts to enhance the belief stage of residents.

    The problem was highlighted by JFJ Govt Director Mickel Jackson at The Mico College Faculty whereas giving a report on a latest survey.

    The Residents’ Rights, Roles, Tasks and Practices Survey 2025 was undertaken over a 3 12 months interval by The Mico Basis in collaboration with JFJ and the European Union.

    It examined public consciousness, perceptions and experiences regarding residents’ rights and duties, together with interactions with public establishments and regulation enforcement, in addition to problems with accountability, civic participation, home violence and entry to justice.

    Citing the findings of the survey, Ms. Jackson lamented that whereas many voters have been conscious of their rights, many shied away from reporting violations and it is a matter that must be addressed.

    She famous that the foundation causes of not reporting violations range and embrace a low stage of belief.

    She mentioned the Mico survey findings corroborate the findings of one other survey, the Latin American Public Opinion Ballot.
