The Jamaica Defence Drive JDF says it’s cooperating totally with the police to make sure that the case regarding the current arrest and cost of a soldier is totally and transparently addressed.

30-year-old Rushane Brown, in any other case referred to as ‘Shane’, of Consolation Corridor Manchester has been charged in reference to the discharge of a weapon on Christmas day.

This follows an incident at an institution in Roses Valley District, St. Elizabeth .

Experiences from the Balaclava police are that at about 5:15 A.M., Brown was accosted by an off obligation police officer, after he was noticed discharging two rounds into the air -from a pistol.

Brown was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and illegal discharge of a firearm in a public place.

In an announcement, the JDF says it doesn’t condone illegal, reckless, or irresponsible behaviour by any of its members, whether or not on or off obligation.

It provides that the actions allegedly attributed to the service member are inconsistent with the values, requirements, {and professional} conduct anticipated of all JDF service members .

The JDF states that it stays dedicated to the very best requirements of self-discipline, accountability, and repair to Jamaicans.

The military is assuring the general public that incidents of this nature are handled with the utmost seriousness.
