    JDF Coast Guard Rescues 16 Fishermen After Vessel Bursts Into Flames – One Feared Dead

    KINGSTON, Jamaica — Members of the Jamaica Defence Drive (JDF) Coast Guard sprang into motion earlier right now, rescuing 16 fishermen from a burning vessel off the south coast of Jamaica in a dramatic maritime operation.

    Experiences are that simply earlier than noon, the HMJS Norman Manley noticed a vessel engulfed in flames roughly 14 nautical miles south of Portland Level, Clarendon.

    The JDF stated the Norman Manley was instantly rigged as a fireboat to sort out the blaze. On the identical time, the crew launched a small rescue craft to go looking the world for survivors.

    The JRCC Kingston operates 24 hours and coordinates all maritime and aeronautical search and rescue efforts throughout Jamaican waters.
