    A brand new Jamaican animated movie, Anansi the Spider, has been chosen for the 2025 Slamdance Movie Competition, going down February 20–26 in Los Angeles, California. Created by filmmaker Jared Corridor, the quick movie brings a contemporary twist to the legendary Anansi folks tales that originated in West Africa and are broadly celebrated in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
