Scores of Jamaicans had been woke up from their slumber early this morning, as a magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck off the coast of the island.
The shaking was reportedly felt throughout japanese sections of Jamaica.
The quake struck at about 3: 18 am, and was centred at sea, about 80 kilometres east of Manchioneal, Portland.
It occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Residents, who took to social media, reported feeling the shaking, with a number of accounts of individuals waking up because the earthquake struck.
This morning’s shake comes after sections of the island felt a 5.6 magnitude earthquake at round 7 AM, on Sunday.
