    Iowa Man Admits to Murdering Wife, Says He Wanted to ‘Put Her Out of Her Misery'”

    PERRY, IOWA – A 75-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree homicide after allegedly killing his 74-year-old spouse by slitting her throat. Richard Hoesing reportedly advised authorities he dedicated the act to “put her out of her distress” on account of her ongoing diseases.

    On Sunday night, March sixteenth, Richard Hoesing contacted the Perry Police Division and confessed to killing his spouse, Jean Hoesing, who resided with him. Upon arrival at their residence, officers discovered Jean Hoesing deceased within the bed room, affected by a “extreme laceration throughout the entrance of her throat.” A kitchen knife was recovered from the toilet.

    In response to a prison grievance cited by WHO-TV, Richard Hoesing knowledgeable officers that his spouse had been affected by bipolar dysfunction and a number of sclerosis. He reportedly acknowledged that he killed her on account of these medical circumstances. Officers on the scene noticed blood on Richard Hoesing’s clothes and palms.

    Richard Hoesing cooperated with the police and was taken into custody. He’s presently being held on the Dallas County Jail with out bond. The investigation is ongoing.
