    India’s Consulate in Toronto expresses grief over Indian student’s murder

    Toronto [Canada], December 26 (ANI): Consulate Basic of India in Toronto on Thursday (native time) expressed anguish over the killing of an Indian scholar in a taking pictures incident close to the College of Toronto Scarborough Campus.

    Issuing an announcement on X, the Consulate stated it’s offering essential help to the deceased’s household.

    ‘We specific deep anguish over the tragic dying of a younger Indian doctoral scholar, Mr Shivank Avasthi, in a deadly taking pictures incident close to the College of Toronto Scarborough Campus. The Consulate is in contact with the bereaved household throughout this tough time, and is extending all essential help in shut coordination with the native authorities,’ the Consulate Basic stated.

    Earlier on Tuesday (native time), the Toronto Police stated Shivank Avasthi was gunned down within the Highland Creek Path and Previous Kingston Street space. The police rushed to the spot, discovering the sufferer with a gunshot wound earlier than he was pronounced lifeless on the scene, the Toronto Solar reported.

    Police officers stated the suspects fled the scene earlier than police arrived. The campus was locked down throughout the probe.
