The tribute occasion, titled ‘Dave Martins is We Personal – A Musical and Visible Journey,’ was organized by the Guyana Ministry of Tradition, Youth and Sport in collaboration with the Division of Public Affairs, Workplace of the Prime Minister. It celebrated the life and legacy of Martins, whose storytelling and music have impressed generations throughout the Caribbean and its Diasporas.

Household, buddies, admirers, and followers gathered to honor the legendary musician as native artists and the famend Tradewinds Caribbean string band carried out a few of Martins’ iconic songs. Guyana Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Commerce Oneidge Walrond delivered a heartfelt tribute on behalf of President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali. “Dave wasn’t only a songwriter.
