    Former MP Jolyan Silvera Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in Wife’s 2023 Shooting Death

    St Andrew, Jamaica — Former Member of Parliament Jolyan Silvera has admitted guilt to a cost of manslaughter arising from the deadly capturing of his spouse, Melissa Silvera, in 2023.

    Melissa Silvera was found lifeless on the couple’s Stony Hill residence on November 10, 2023. The incident prompted a police investigation that later led to legal fees towards the previous legislator.

    Silvera was taken into custody in January 2024 and formally charged in reference to the killing. He has remained behind bars since his arrest.

    Courtroom proceedings are persevering with within the matter, with additional updates anticipated.
