    Florida Woman Charged After Allegedly Drowning Dog at Orlando Airport

    Orlando, Florida – A Florida girl has been charged with felony animal cruelty after allegedly killing her canine in a toilet at Orlando Worldwide Airport through the Christmas season final 12 months.

    Alison Agatha Lawrence, 57, was arrested on Tuesday, March 18, and charged with aggravated animal abuse, a third-degree felony.

    The Orlando Police Division first responded to the case on December 16, 2024, after an airport worker found a useless animal in a trash receptacle inside a ladies’s public restroom.

    In line with a spokesperson for the Larger Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), an investigation decided that Lawrence had drowned her canine within the restroom earlier than disposing of it within the trash. She allegedly did so after being denied boarding attributable to a scarcity of correct paperwork required to convey the pet on the flight.

    Following an investigation, police issued a warrant for Lawrence’s arrest, and he or she was apprehended at her house in Lake County. She has since posted a $5,000 bond and been launched.

    Neighbors of Lawrence recalled seeing her strolling a white poodle within the neighborhood however famous that each she and the canine had not been seen not too long ago.

    Bryan Wilson of the Animal Rights Basis of Florida voiced his help for stricter animal cruelty legal guidelines, stating, “Clearly, we have been shocked once we heard a girl had successfully drowned her companion animal all as a result of she couldn’t get on a airplane. This isn’t a bottle of water or an outsized bottle of shampoo.”

    The GOAA has urged vacationers to verify the TSA web site for rules on flying with animals to make sure compliance earlier than arriving on the airport.
