    Flash Flood Watch Extended — Heavy Rains Lash Jamaica’s South and Northwest

    Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s Information) — The Meteorological Service of Jamaica has prolonged the flash flood look ahead to a number of parishes as unstable climate situations proceed to soak the island.

    The alert now stays in impact till 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

    The parishes beneath watch embrace St Thomas, Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine, Clarendon, Westmoreland, Hanover, St Elizabeth, and St James — all areas recognized to be low-lying and flood-prone.

    Heavy showers and remoted thunderstorms have been pounding sections of the island because the weekend, leaving roads flooded and drains overflowing in some communities.

    The Met Service is urging residents, notably these residing close to rivers, gullies, and in flood-prone areas, to remain alert and be prepared to maneuver to larger floor if situations worsen.

    Motorists are being reminded to train excessive warning when driving by waterlogged roads, as even shallow floodwaters could be harmful.

    With rains anticipated to proceed into Tuesday morning, residents are suggested to maintain monitoring climate updates by official channels and to keep away from pointless journey in affected areas.

    Because the moist climate system lingers, emergency groups are stated to be on standby, and residents are being inspired to report any indicators of flooding or landslides to the related authorities.
