St Mary, Jamaica – A particular operation carried out on Thursday within the Oracabessa communities of Marson City and Bailey’s Vale resulted within the arrest of 5 people and the seizure of ammunition, authorities reported.

Appearing Superintendent Anthony Wallace, head of the St Mary Police Division, disclosed that 4 people had been arrested for unauthorized possession of ammunition and associated offences following the invention of 5 12-gauge cartridges. A fifth particular person was taken into custody for working and not using a spirit license, disorderly conduct, obstructing law enforcement officials, resisting arrest, and extra violations.

“The operation targeted on disrupting gang exercise, recovering unlawful firearms and ammunition, and apprehending people concerned in legal actions,” Wallace defined. “These arrests goal individuals engaged in robberies, firearm trafficking, and different critical offences.”

The operation, spearheaded by a joint activity drive comprising the Fugitive Apprehension Group, Narcotics Division, Specialised Operations, the Canine Division, and the Jamaica Defence Drive, displays the continued push to dismantle legal networks in St Mary.

In the course of the operation, a wide range of alcoholic drinks was confiscated from an unauthorized institution, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis confirmed. Moreover, in a pre-dawn search in Oracabessa that very same day, regulation enforcement found 5 .22 rounds of ammunition hidden beneath a drum cowl used for storing pesticides and water. Whereas no arrests had been made in reference to this discovery, an intensive search of the premises yielded no additional contraband.

Francis emphasised the division’s unwavering dedication to tackling crime and guaranteeing public security. “The St Mary Police Division continues to focus on legal components and dismantle actions threatening neighborhood security. This operation displays the dedication of regulation enforcement to making a safer setting for all residents,” he mentioned.

Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
