Roseau, Dominica — The Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority (DASPA) has confirmed ongoing rescue efforts for a lacking Cessna 172 plane that departed the Douglas Charles Airport on Sunday afternoon en path to Martinique.

In keeping with a press release from DASPA, the four-seater single-engine plane misplaced communications at roughly 3:46 pm native time. Native and French emergency response groups are collaborating to find the lacking aircraft.

“Rescue efforts are in progress, and we affirm that the protection of the passenger and crew is paramount presently. Additional updates on the scenario will probably be supplied as soon as they grow to be accessible,” DASPA assured in its launch.

Particulars surrounding the precise variety of individuals on board or the nationality of the pilot stay unclear. The Cessna 172, often called the most-produced plane in historical past and extensively used for flight coaching, has not but been positioned.

Eyewitness reviews counsel that the aircraft could have crashed between Riviere Cyrique and La Plaine on Dominica’s southeast coast. One resident stated, “That aircraft has an engine downside, and it fell down between Riviere Cyrique and La Plaine. Circle round there, they may get the aircraft there.”

Authorities are but to verify these claims because the search continues. Extra updates are anticipated as rescue groups scour the realm for indicators of the lacking plane.
