The authorized battle between plus-size rapper Dank DeMoss and ride-sharing big Lyft has reached its conclusion, with DeMoss reportedly dropping her lawsuit. The case, which ignited a nationwide dialog about discrimination and accessibility, stemmed from an incident in January the place a Lyft driver refused to move DeMoss, citing issues about his car’s capability.

DeMoss, whose actual title is Dajua Blanding, filed the lawsuit alleging that the driving force’s refusal was an act of discrimination primarily based on her weight, a protected attribute underneath Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. The incident, captured on video and broadly shared on social media, confirmed a confrontation between DeMoss and the driving force, the place the driving force expressed reservations about his automotive’s means to accommodate her dimension.

The lawsuit argued that Lyft failed to make sure its drivers adhered to anti-discrimination insurance policies and that the driving force’s actions induced emotional misery and violated DeMoss’s civil rights.

Nonetheless, regardless of the preliminary media consideration and public outcry, the authorized final result didn’t favor DeMoss. Whereas particular courtroom particulars haven’t been broadly publicized, it has been confirmed that she misplaced the lawsuit.
