KINGSTON, Jamaica — A curfew has been imposed in sections of East Kingston amid ongoing efforts by the Jamaica Constabulary Pressure (JCF) to revive public order and suppress violent crimes within the space.
In response to the JCF, the curfew started at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, and can stay in impact till 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8. The boundaries of the curfew cowl strategic areas susceptible to gang-related actions.
The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
- North: Alongside an imaginary line from the Mountain Ridge resulting in the Mountain View Main College and onto the Cane River Falls.
- East: From the Cane River Falls to the bridge at 10 Miles, Bull Bay, St Andrew.
- South: From the shoreline to the bridge at 10 Miles, Bull Bay, and onto Flag Circle.
- West: Alongside South Camp Street from Flag Circle to Winery Street, then alongside an imaginary line persevering with to the Mountain View Main College.
Residents inside the curfew zones are being suggested to cooperate with the police and restrict motion until obligatory. Solely individuals with legit causes for being within the space shall be allowed passage by the safety forces.
The JCF has reiterated that these measures are aimed toward restoring calm and defending the lives of law-abiding residents in these communities.
