The Chinese language naval hospital ship, Silk Highway Ark, will present varied medical companies, together with surgical procedures to Jamaicans over the following few weeks, beginning in St James, then in Kingston and Falmouth.
The ship arrived on the Montego Bay cruise ship terminal, yesterday.
Well being Minister Dr Christopher Tufton welcomed the Silk Highway Ark, describing it as a well timed and extremely technical addition to Jamaica’s healthcare capability, following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
Dr Tufton led a delegation from the ministry on a tour of the medical vessel.
He mentioned the ship’s medical group is already treating out-patients, and can quickly cater to elective surgical procedure instances.
