    Case involving man charged in relation to 2016 gun attack in St. Catherine transferred to Gun Court

    The case involving a person charged in relation to a gun assault over a decade in the past has been transferred from the St. Catherine Parish Court docket to the Gun Court docket.

    The accused is 31-year-old Akeem Jackson, in any other case often known as ‘Bobo Sparks’ of Twickenham Park, St. Catherine.

    Experiences are that in September 2016, Jackson and his accomplices, all armed with weapons, went to a girl’s residence in Twickenham Park.

    In the course of the incident, Jackson allegedly opened hearth on the home.

    The occupants managed to flee unhurt.

    The matter was reported to the police, and an investigation was launched.

    In the course of the probe, it was revealed that Jackson had fled Jamaica.

    He was named most wished by the St Catherine North Police.

    In June 2018, police in The Bahamas arrested Jackson in relation to an armed theft.

    In January 2020, Jackson was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail.

    Final Friday, he was deported from The Bahamas to Jamaica.

    Native police apprehended him throughout an intelligence-led operation.

    Following a question-and-answer session, Jackson was formally charged with two counts of taking pictures with intent, malicious destruction of property, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and utilizing a firearm to commit an offence.

    Jackson appeared earlier than Parish Choose Desiree Alleyne immediately and she or he transferred the matter to Kingston.

    He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to seem earlier than the Gun Court docket on March 20.
