ST ANN, Jamaica— A 54-year-old janitor has been charged with larceny as a servant after allegedly stealing $286,300 from a enterprise institution in Brown’s City, St Ann.

The accused, Arland Martin, who resides in Brown’s City, was arrested following an investigation into lacking funds at his office.

In line with stories from the Brown’s City Police, the supervisor of the institution recognized discrepancies in two separate transactions. A overview of information revealed that $140,300 was lacking in October and one other $146,000 in December.

Additional investigations, together with a overview of surveillance footage, confirmed that Martin accessed the corporate’s vault on two events and eliminated the money.

A report was subsequently made to the police, resulting in Martin’s arrest. He has since been charged with larceny as a servant, and his court docket date is to be decided.
