Dhaka, Bangladesh – A Bangladesh Air Drive fighter jet crashed into the Milestone College & Faculty in Uttara, Dhaka, on Monday afternoon, killing at the least 19 individuals, together with the pilot and a number of other college students. Over 160 others had been injured.
The F-7 BGI jet reportedly suffered a technical failure shortly after takeoff and plummeted into the college throughout class hours, sparking fireplace and chaos.
The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Toukir Islam Sagar, is being hailed for attempting to steer the jet away from crowded areas earlier than it crashed. He later died from his accidents.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared Tuesday a nationwide day of mourning and promised help to victims’ households. The Air Drive has launched an investigation.
