    Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has issued a powerful attraction to residents in possession of unlawful firearms to give up them to regulation enforcement, citing the pressing want to reinforce public security and protect Dominica’s historically low crime charge.

    Talking on the Commencement Ceremony and Passing Out Parade of the thirty sixth Recruit Coaching Course at Windsor Park Sports activities Stadium, Skerrit reiterated his authorities’s dedication to tackling gun violence head-on.

    “This matter is our primary precedence on this nation, to crack down on unlawful firearms,” the Prime Minister stated. “So, when you have one, take it to the closest police station, please.”

    Emphasizing the necessity for safe communities and public areas, Skerrit added, “We have to be sure that individuals can go to our seashores safely, that they will stroll the streets of Dominica with out concern of being shot.”

    The Prime Minister described public safety as a shared obligation between the federal government, regulation enforcement, and residents.

    “That is who we’re as a individuals, and it’s the accountability of everybody, not simply the police, to rid our streets and communities of unlawful firearms,” he said. “Everybody, please, a phrase to the smart is ample.”

    Whereas Dominica enjoys a comparatively low crime charge, Skerrit cautioned towards complacency, warning that, “even one crime is one too many.”

    Performing Commissioner of Police Lincoln Corbette additionally addressed the ceremony, voicing full help for the Prime Minister’s stance and vowing continued motion from the police pressure.
