    Michelle Downer, professionally often called D’Angel, is a reputation synonymous with resilience and artistry in Jamaican dancehall and reggae. Born on April 1, 1978, in Spanish City, Jamaica, she has earned the moniker “First Girl of Dancehall” for her trailblazing contributions to the style. With a profession spanning over twenty years, D’Angel continues to push boundaries, proving that her value extends far past her high-profile relationships and public scrutiny.

    A Exceptional Journey in Music

    D’Angel’s music profession started within the early 2000s following her return to Jamaica from worldwide modeling. Her debut single, “Uptown Dwelling,” launched in 2005, marked the beginning of her ascent within the dancehall scene. She rapidly garnered consideration with hits like “Stronger” and “One Man,” a duet together with her then-husband, Beenie Man. Recognized for her capacity to mix reggae and dancehall, D’Angel’s catalog displays versatility and creativity.
