Kingston, Jamaica – A devastating fireplace ripped by way of the Fixed Spring Arcade in St. Andrew on Monday morning, leaving two retailers utterly destroyed and one other severely broken.

In line with Assistant Superintendent Courtney Thompson of the York Park Fireplace Station, firefighters have been alerted to the blaze round 8:05 am and shortly dispatched 4 models from Half Method Tree, Stony Hill, and York Park to the scene.

“Upon arrival, we discovered the hearth contained to 3 retailers, all utilized as snack facilities,” Thompson said. “Regardless of our efforts, two of those retailers have been utterly destroyed, whereas a 3rd suffered important harm.”

Firefighters battled the blaze for a number of hours earlier than bringing it below management and conducting cooling-down operations.

The reason for the hearth stays below investigation, with fireplace investigators anticipated to begin their examination shortly.

The Fixed Spring Arcade is owned by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Company.
