    BOJ says impact of Hurricane Melissa on inflation now projected to be less severe than previously anticipated; cuts policy rate to 5.50%

    Financial institution of Jamaica says the influence of Hurricane Melissa on inflation, whereas important, is now projected to be much less extreme than beforehand anticipated.

    Governor Richard Byles made the declaration throughout a Financial Coverage press briefing in Kingston this morning.

    He was explaining the Central Financial institution’s determination to scale back its coverage fee by 25 foundation factors to five.50%, efficient immediately.
