Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has acquired the International Tourism Resilience Lifetime Achievement Award on the 4th International Tourism Resilience Day 2026, held on the Safari Park Resort in Nairobi on February 17, 2026.
The award recognises Bartlett’s pioneering management in establishing international tourism resilience frameworks and advancing methods for disaster preparedness and restoration. His work has been credited with positioning resilience as a key pillar of sustainable tourism improvement, serving to locations face up to and get well from pure disasters, pandemics, financial shocks, and different international disruptions.
Over time, Minister Bartlett has championed worldwide collaboration, coverage innovation, and capacity-building initiatives geared toward safeguarding one of many world’s most important financial sectors.
In his acceptance remarks, Bartlett reaffirmed his dedication to fostering tourism programs that empower communities, defend livelihoods, and drive long-term financial stability. He highlighted the significance of continued international cooperation in creating adaptive frameworks to answer rising challenges in an more and more interconnected world.
“This award is testomony to the enduring work we’ve been doing via the International Tourism Resilience and Disaster Administration Centre in Jamaica. I thank all our private and non-private companions who perceive the significance of a resilient tourism trade,” he stated.
Professor Waller, Govt Director of the International Tourism Resilience and Disaster Administration Centre, praised Bartlett’s efforts, noting that his initiatives have strengthened partnerships amongst governments, personal stakeholders, and worldwide establishments, selling restoration, sustainability, and inclusive progress throughout tourism-dependent economies.
