    Transport Ministry commences process to acquire buses for second phase of Rural School Bus System

    The Transport Ministry has commenced the method to amass buses for the second part of the Rural Faculty Bus System.

    The primary part of the system was launched in September final yr with 60 buses.

    The ministry accomplished the primary part final month, after the remaining buses arrived on the island and had been handed over to the Jamaica City Transit Firm (JUTC).

    Portfolio Minister Daryl Vaz stated of the 110 buses, 10 had been positioned in reserve.

    He stated each day 70 to 80% of the 100 buses are rolled out.

    In the meantime, Mr. Vaz stated the ministry shall be buying 100 buses as an alternative of the preliminary 150 below Section 2, as a result of affect of Hurricane Melissa.

    Mr. Vaz famous that every one 100 buses shall be new items.

    He stated over $2 billion shall be allotted to the Rural Faculty Bus Programme within the upcoming monetary yr.
