    JLP councillors walk out of KSAMC’s monthly meeting, after Councillor Lorraine Dobson elected deputy mayor

    Jamaica Labour Celebration councillors walked out of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Company’s Month-to-month Council Assembly at this time, after Councillor of the Springfield Division, Lorraine Dobson was elected deputy mayor.

    Councillor Dobson is a member of the Individuals’s Nationwide Celebration.

    Some JLP councillors argued that the deputy mayor ought to come from their get together.

    In addition they cited the Illustration of the Individuals Act, ROPA.

    Councillor of the Gordon City Division, Neville Whittaker, identified that the earlier Deputy Mayor Delroy Williams is a member of the JLP, and the submit solely turned vacant, as a result of he resigned to contest the Clarendon Central seat, within the normal election, final September.

    He accused the PNP of not following precept.

    The JLP councillors then walked out.

    Councillor Dobson then took her oath as Deputy Mayor.
