Well being Minister Dr Christopher Tufton has said that readability is required because it pertains to the College Hospital of the West Indies, its procurement practices and its regional governance.
He was responding to queries from reporters whereas in St Catherine yesterday, within the wake of a damning report from the Auditor Normal concerning the UHWI.
The AG flagged the hospital for a number of points to incorporate procurement breaches, misuse of tax exemption and absent data.
Tufton identified that the hospital is a part of the College of the West Indies, which is a regional instructional establishment.
He famous that the institutional evaluation committee is tasked with, amongst different issues, in search of readability on the UWI and UHWI procurement guidelines.
When requested concerning the effectiveness of the committee, Tufton defined that the function of the committee is completely different from that of the hospital board.
The minister famous that the hospital board has indicated its willingness to work with the committee, in reviewing the matter.
He stated the intention is to be guided by the committee’s suggestions and discussions with the management of the college to find out the way in which ahead.
