    Accompong Chief, Richard Currie welcomes PM Holness’ talks on maroon sovereignty

    Accompong Chief, Richard Currie has welcomed Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness’ openness to  focus on additional the sovereignty of the maroons. 

    The Accompong maroons celebrated the treaty with the British that established the group, making certain its freedom and autonomy yesterday .

    Prime Minister  Dr.Andrew Holness who addressed the occasion said that the Accompong maroons are part of the Jamaican sovereignty.

    Chief Currie outlined that the Prime Minister will go to the group to carry additional talks on the maroon’s sovereignty 

    He defined that documentation is required to concretize the excellence of the maroon folks from the remaining society 

    In the meantime, the maroon chief mentioned he accepts Dr Holness’ provide to have dialogue on the best way to maneuver ahead.
