    INDECOM expresses concern over 65% increase in fatal shootings in 2025 and notes 14 fatal shootings so far this year

    The variety of individuals killed by the safety forces because the begin of 2026 has risen to 14.

    Earlier at present, the Impartial Fee of Investigations (INDECOM) expressed concern about 12 folks being killed.

    Since then INDECOM has notified of two extra incidents and deaths.

    Between January 1 and at present, INDECOM groups responded to incidents in Manchester, Clarendon, St James, Westmoreland, Kingston, St Andrew and St Thomas.

    24-year-old Desmond Dunkley
    44-year-old Corel Wint
    37-year-old Delano Leslie
    15-year-old Romaine Campbell
    Christopher Campbell
    23-year-old Byron Mcdonald
    26-year-old Teshawn Porteous
    19-year-old Rasheed Johnson

    These killed in Clarendon, St Andrew and St Thomas stay unidentified.

    Previous to the stories of at present’s incidents, Deputy Commissioner of INDECOM, Yanique Taylor Wellington expressed concern concerning the 65 p.c enhance in deadly shootings in 2025 in comparison with 2024.
