    Energy Ministry to re-purpose $USD2M for oil exploration impacts to aid fishers affected by hurricane Melissa

    Two million US {dollars} initially meant for oil exploration impacts, will likely be used as an alternative to help fishers affected by hurricane Melissa. 

    Power Minister Daryl Vaz made the announcement, whereas talking on the official launch of the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) emergency cellular energy era unit in Treasure Seaside, St. Elizabeth on Wednesday.

    Mr. Vaz famous that the Fishers Ministry has submitted data on injury sustained within the sector and the help programme will likely be finalised by subsequent month.  

    The minister harassed that the help will assist the affected fishers rebuild their livelihoods.
