    Firefighters extinguish early-morning blaze in Downtown San Diego

    Firefighters battled a blaze suspected of getting been attributable to an unattended range in a high-rise condo constructing in downtown San Diego’s East Village Thursday.

    Crews responded inside 5 minutes to a hearth reported at 5:19 a.m. Thursday on the Leo Apartment Homes at 715 fifteenth St., on the nook of G Avenue close to Makers Quarter, in response to the San Diego Fireplace Rescue Division.

    “After they arrived on scene they heard an audible alarm,” mentioned Jason Shanley, SDFR spokesman. “A resident advised them that they had one thing within the oven on the fourth ground.”

    Shanley mentioned crews proceeded to the constructing’s fourth ground the place they “confirmed there was a hearth. It was an oven hearth with zero extension. Crews knocked down the fireplace rapidly and have been on the scene for about an hour.”

    Shanley mentioned there have been no accidents reported.

    A complete of 36 personnel have been referred to as to the scene together with the crews of two hearth vehicles, 5 engines, two battalion chiefs, one medic and one rescue automobile.

    Makers Quarter is a multi-block city live-work-play improvement mixing residential, workplace, retail and open areas.
