    Jamaicans urged to help sustain tourism sector in western parishes that were hard hit by Hurricane Melissa

    Jamaicans are being referred to as on to assist maintain the tourism sector in western parishes that had been arduous hit by Hurricane Melissa.

    The devastation resulted within the closure of some resorts and there’s concern about how this may impression different companies.

    The Tourism Ministry is ramping up efforts to get guests to Jamaica for the winter season.

    St James was among the many arduous hit parishes, and the Chamber of Commerce has expressed concern that this Christmas is not going to be as festive as previous holidays.

    Chamber President Jason Russell mentioned a tourism city, with out vacationers, means the autumn out shall be immense.

    Mr Russell mentioned some companies needed to lay off staff as a result of monetary challenges.

    The Chamber President mentioned companies are in search of to navigate this era with out the conventional money circulate.

    He mentioned if native guests, from the east, go to the west, for the vacations, this may spur financial exercise.

    He expressed hope that the state of affairs will enhance by subsequent month.
