Minister of Water, Surroundings and Local weather Change Matthew Samuda says Jamaica can be clear with the general public, because it prepares to submit tasks to the United Nations’ newly operationalised Fund for Responding to Loss and Harm (FRLD).
The fund is a UN backed local weather finance mechanism designed to assist creating nations reply to unavoidable local weather associated losses.
Talking at a local weather change discussion board yesterday, Samuda stated Jamaica will act firmly in defence of its nationwide and regional pursuits.
The minister welcomed the institution of the Loss and Harm Fund, describing it as a important mechanism for small island creating states like Jamaica which are already dealing with the impacts of local weather change
