    CASE to seek assistance from gov’t to improve campus security

    President of the Faculty of Agriculture, Science and Training (CASE), in Portland, Dr Derrick Deslandes says the establishment is getting ready a proposal to undergo the Training Ministry requesting help to enhance campus safety.

    This follows the reported sexual assault of a pupil on Sunday.

    Reviews are that the feminine pupil was raped by unknown assailants .

    She is receiving help and counselling.

    The Portland police are investigating the incident.

    Upset college students staged a protest yesterday calling on the varsity directors to implement higher safety measures, mentioning that the safety in place is ineffective.

    Talking to IRIE FM Information this morning Dr Deslandes mentioned the problem with college safety has been a longstanding one.

    He instructed IRIE FM Information that the problem is as a result of lack of sufficient monetary help amongst different issues.

    He defined that whereas the varsity is in want of a fringe fence there are inside safety options which should even be thought of.
