    Concerns raised over rebuilding homes in Parottee, St. Elizabeth post-Melissa

    A senior official on the Ministry of Labour and Social Safety in St. Elizabeth has raised considerations over the feasibility of rebuilding homes in Parottee close to Black River, following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

    Head of the Ministry’s St. Elizabeth workplace, Michelle Senior mentioned the evaluation of the world has proven that there must be an intervention.

    Talking at yesterday’s sitting of the St. Elizabeth Municipal Company, Ms. Senior questioned the protection of rebuilding in Parottee, the place some homes are both lined in sand, badly broken or destroyed following the Class 5 system.

    Mayor of Black River Richard Solomon acknowledged her concern and mentioned a dialogue shall be held to find out the way in which ahead.

    Councillor for the Mountainside division Derrick Sangster added {that a} assembly is to be held with Parottee residents subsequent month, in session with Member of Parliament for St. Elizabeth South Western, Floyd Inexperienced.
