St Andrew South police have launched a full-scale probe into Sunday’s gun assault that claimed the lifetime of 49-year-old veteran jockey Oneil Ricardo Mullings, who rode at Caymanas Park in St Catherine.

Stories are that about noon, Mullings was standing alongside Thompson View Avenue, Kingston 11 — the group the place he lived — when he was approached by a person armed with a gun. The assailant opened fireplace, hitting him within the head.

Lawmen say Mullings had a dispute earlier within the day with two brothers, who’ve since been recognized as suspects within the case. Officers assisted Mullings to hospital, the place he was pronounced lifeless.

Investigators are interesting to anybody with info on the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the Hunts Bay Police at 876-923-7111, Crime Cease at 311, the JCF Tip Line at 811, or the closest police station.

Detectives from St Andrew South proceed their investigations.
