St. Catherine, Jamaica – The Lavatory Stroll police in St Catherine have launched an investigation into the tragic loss of life of a mechanical engineer who drowned after his car plunged into the Rio Cobre on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been recognized as 58-year-old Garfield Batts, a mechanical engineer of Lot 118 Saint Rose, Inexperienced Acres, St Catherine.

Experiences reaching McKoy’s Information are that about 7:45 a.m. on July 30, Batts was travelling alongside the Lavatory Stroll Gorge when he reportedly misplaced management of his car, which veered off the roadway and ended up within the Rio Cobre.

The car plunged into the river, and Batts is believed to have encountered difficulties escaping, resulting in him drowning.

His physique was later recovered by authorities and transported to a close-by funeral house, the place it’s being held pending a autopsy examination.

    Police investigations are ongoing.
