    Canadian Girl Found Dead in New York — Father Arrested After False Abduction Claim

    TICONDEROGA, New York — Shock and heartbreak gripped communities in Canada and New York on Sunday after the physique of a lacking 9-year-old Canadian woman, Melina Galanis Frattolin, was found in a wooded space close to Ticonderoga — simply hours after her father reported her kidnapped from a Lake George trip spot.

    In line with U.S. authorities, Melina’s father, 45-year-old Luciano Frattolin, referred to as police late Saturday night, claiming his daughter had been kidnapped throughout their household journey to Lake George, a well-liked summer season vacation spot.

    An Amber Alert was swiftly issued within the early hours of Sunday morning, warning that the kid was in “imminent hazard.”

    Nonetheless, the search took a grim flip when state troopers discovered the little woman’s lifeless physique round noon Sunday, about 30 miles from the place she was final seen.

     Father in Custody

    Police have since arrested Luciano Frattolin, alleging that his account of the kidnapping was false and deceptive. Authorities say his timeline of occasions “didn’t add up” and that there was no proof of a stranger abduction.

    The investigation has now shifted focus to what police are calling a murder inquiry, with Frattolin as the first suspect.

     A Group in Mourning

    Neighbors and family members again in Canada are devastated, describing Melina as a vibrant, cheerful little one who beloved the outside and animals. Vigils are being deliberate in her hometown, and the Canadian consulate in New York is aiding the household.

    Officers say the general public will not be at risk and have promised additional updates because the investigation continues.
