    Investigation continues into plane missing off San Diego coast

    A Nationwide Transportation Security Board investigation is underway Thursday after a four-seat aircraft owned by Peter Schultz — a chemist and chief government of the Scripps Analysis Institute — went missing whereas piloted by a good friend who was reported unresponsive whereas en path to San Diego Montgomery-Gibbs Airport.

    The aircraft, a single-engine 2014 Cessna T240 Corvalis TTx, took off from Ramona Airport Sunday afternoon and is presumed to have been destroyed after crashing into the Pacific Ocean about 470 miles off the coast of San Diego, in line with the Aviation Safety Network, a world database for monitoring accidents.

    The pilot was Tsotne Javahishvili, in line with the Scripps Analysis Institute. Javahishvili was an in depth good friend of Schultz and beforehand labored for the institute. Schultz mentioned the 2 spent a whole bunch of hours flying collectively, and Javahishvili was an skilled pilot.

    Javahishvili is believed to be the one occupant of the aircraft, however no official experiences have been launched.

    No survivors or remnants of the aircraft had been instantly reported.
