St James, Jamaica — A chef from St James has been charged with theft with aggravation following an incident at a enterprise place alongside Jimmy Cliff Boulevard in Montego Bay on Tuesday, July 15.

The accused has been recognized as 24-year-old Rayando Riley, of Rose Heights, Montego Bay, who can also be stated to be a barber.

Stories from the Barnett Road Police are that about 3:45 a.m., Riley and one other man approached the feminine complainant at her workplace. Riley allegedly instructed her he was armed with a gun and demanded cash.

A scuffle ensued between the 2, throughout which Riley reportedly punched the girl a number of instances within the face earlier than stealing a half carton of cigarettes valued at $6,300.

Whereas fleeing the scene, a cellphone reportedly fell from a bag Riley was carrying. The telephone was handed over to the police when the incident was reported.

Riley later known as the telephone and was instructed to come back to the station to retrieve it. When he arrived, he was positively recognized by the complainant and brought into custody.

He has since been charged with theft with aggravation, and his courtroom date is being finalised.
