    Operations back to normal after multiple Canadian airports hit with bomb threats

    Operations are again to regular after a number of Canadian airports confronted bomb threats on Thursday morning that grounded flights and have been anticipated to trigger widespread delays, in keeping with air site visitors management supervisor Nav Canada.

    Airports, police investigating

    RCMP on the Winnipeg Richardson Worldwide Airport obtained a bomb menace at round 6:05 a.m. CT, RCMP advised CBC Information in a written assertion.

    In Vancouver, RCMP advised CBC Information the menace there had been a “false report.”

    Richmond RCMP obtained a report of a menace on the Vancouver Worldwide Airport’s Nav Canada air site visitors management tower at roughly 2 a.m. PT, spokesperson Cpl. Melissa Lui stated in a written assertion.

    The tower was evacuated and no threats have been positioned, Lui added.

    “The RCMP and YVR take threats of this nature very significantly,” Lui stated. “After the preliminary investigation, investigators decided this to be a false report, and that there isn’t any credible menace to public security.”

    The Vancouver Airport Authority stated flights have been working usually, nevertheless it was conscious of the incident.

    The Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier Worldwide Airport said earlier on X that it was “investigating a safety incident” and warned that operations could also be disrupted. By 10:30 a.m. ET, it stated that its safety investigation had “safely concluded and common operations are resuming.”

    The Ottawa Police Service additionally stated on X that it was investigating a safety incident on the Ottawa airport.

    In a press release to CBC Information, the Edmonton Worldwide Airport confirmed a “safety incident” was inflicting a “handful of delays.”

    “The protection and safety of our passengers, group members and companions is our prime precedence.  We are able to affirm a safety incident had minimal affect on operations this morning,” a spokesperson stated.

    The Calgary Worldwide Airport stated that “a safety incident this morning has had minimal affect on common operations.”

    Officers at Montreal’s airport authority stated operations there had resumed as of seven:30 a.m ET.

    An Air Canada spokesperson stated “there was minimal affect on our operations” and suggested folks to test the standing of their flights.
