    Heritage continues clean-up and monitoring following hydrocarbon leak – Jamaica Inquirer

    Heritage Petroleum Firm Restricted (Heritage) says that emergency response operations stay ongoing following the reported hydrocarbon leak in South Trinidad.

    In an replace on Sunday afternoon, Heritage mentioned the affected line has been efficiently repaired, and cleanup actions stay ongoing throughout all impacted areas. 

    The corporate added that as a part of its continued response efforts, air high quality monitoring and testing have commenced and can proceed within the coming days to safeguard the well being and well-being of close by communities. 

    “Preliminary assessments performed at Marabella South Secondary College point out that air high quality ranges are inside acceptable limits,” Heritage mentioned.

    On Saturday, the Minister of Vitality and Vitality Industries, Roodal Moonilal; Member of Parliament for San Fernando West, Dr Michael Dowlath; Councillor for Marabella West, John Alibocas and members of Heritage’s Government Management Group (ELT) visited the affected residents and toured the impacted areas. As a precautionary measure, the affected residents had been relocated to a close-by, comfy facility. 

    “Heritage has assigned devoted personnel to offer ongoing help and deal with any medical or different wants which will come up,” the corporate assured.
