    $300 Million CCTV System Boosts Security in Kingston

    Kingston, Jamaica – The Authorities of Jamaica has accomplished the set up of 285 high-definition CCTV cameras throughout Denham City, downtown Kingston, and Waltham Park Highway as a part of a $300 million nationwide safety funding.

    The surveillance community, now totally operational, offers 24/7 dwell footage to the newly opened Denham City JamaicaEye Monitoring Centre. Formally launched by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Nationwide Safety Dr. Horace Chang, the power is designed to reinforce police response to crime via real-time monitoring.

    “This marks a serious step in modernizing how we method legislation enforcement and public security,” stated Dr. Chang. “These cameras will improve police visibility, enhance response occasions, and assist ongoing efforts to cut back crime.”

    The Denham City centre is the ninth of its sort beneath the JamaicaEye program, with extra centres deliberate. All will connect with the central C5 hub, which coordinates nationwide surveillance, dispatch, and safety information.

    Minister of Native Authorities and Kingston Western MP Desmond McKenzie welcomed the transfer, saying it will increase public confidence within the police. “It will considerably enhance policing and construct belief between the neighborhood and legislation enforcement,” he acknowledged.

    Superintendent of Police Orette Bascoe of the Info, Communications and Expertise Division added that the police will use the system to create safer public areas. “That is an funding in your security and safety,” he instructed residents.

    The initiative is a part of a broader technique to equip the Jamaica Constabulary Pressure with superior instruments for efficient crime prevention and public safety.
