    Football coach, posing as a funeral director, allegedly pulled off $500k burial scam – Jamaica Inquirer

    Investigators from the Kingston Central Police Division have charged 53-year-old Richard Bryan, a soccer coach of Westmore Drive, Maverley, St Andrew, with fraudulent conversion following a sequence of occasions that occurred between January and Might of this 12 months.

    Experiences from the Central Police are that Bryan allegedly pretended to be a funeral director and picked up $500,000 from a lady to have an post-mortem carried out on her son’s physique and make funeral preparations for the son.

    Bryan reportedly initially knowledgeable the girl that the interment would happen on Friday, Might 9, and later modified the date to Sunday, Might 25.

    After a number of unanswered calls to Bryan’s telephone, the girl turned suspicious and made a report back to the police.

    Bryan was subsequently apprehended.

    He was charged with the offence after reportedly admitting to having used the cash for his private profit, throughout an interview with the police.

    He was taken earlier than the court docket and was denied bail.

     He’s scheduled to reappear within the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court docket on Thursday, Might 29.
