    Inflation rises to 1.5% in April – Jamaica Inquirer

    The CSO mentioned the All Gadgets Index calculated from the costs collected for the month of April 2025 was 125.2, representing a rise of 0.2 level or 0.2 per cent above the All Gadgets Index for March 2025.

    “The Index for Meals and Non-Alcoholic Drinks decreased from 153.4 in March 2025 to 152.9 in April 2025, reflecting a lower of -0.3 per cent.

    “Contributing considerably to this lower was the overall downward motion within the costs of recent complete chickens, scorching peppers, tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, recent king fish, plantains, full cream powdered milk, pimento and melongene.

    “Nonetheless, the total affect of those value decreases was offset by the overall improve within the costs of pumpkin, irish potatoes, garlic, recent steak, desk margarine, cheddar cheese, oranges, parboiled rice, ochroes and onions.”
