    Policeman Shot Dead at Home in Old Harbour, Firearm Stolen

    ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A police officer was shot and killed at his dwelling in Previous Harbour, St Catherine, on Saturday morning, in a brazen assault that has left the regulation enforcement group in mourning.

    The deceased has been recognized as Corporal Kamal Mayne, who was connected to the Kingston West Police Division.

    Preliminary stories point out that the incident occurred early Saturday, and that the corporal’s service firearm was stolen through the assault. The circumstances surrounding the taking pictures are nonetheless unclear, and investigators are working to find out the motive.

    Police have since launched a full investigation, and efforts are underway to trace down the perpetrators and get well the stolen weapon.
