    Gov’t Equipping DCS to Fulfil its Mandate – Jamaica Information Service

    The Authorities has reaffirmed its dedication to equipping the Division of Correctional Providers (DCS) with the required help and assets to successfully fulfil its mandate of offering safety, rehabilitation and reintegration companies for offenders.

    Minister of State within the Ministry of Nationwide Safety, Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, gave the pledge as she addressed the Passing Out parade for the eighty fifth Consumption of correctional officers on the Carl Rattray Employees Faculty in Discovery Bay, St. Ann, on Friday (Could 9).

    “We recognise the significance of investing in our correctional officers, of their coaching, of their welfare and of their skilled improvement.     The occasion, underneath the theme ‘Excellence in Securing, Rehabilitating and Reintegrating Lives for a Safer Jamaica’, marked the commencement of 114 officers throughout 4 platoons after a rigorous 22-week coaching programme.

    Coaching of the brand new cohort formally commenced on December 2, 2024 and entailed three segments.

    For her half, Director of the Carl Rattray Employees Faculty, Lygia Martin, praised the graduates for his or her resilience and urged them to uphold “integrity, professionalism, and respect for human dignity” of their roles as custodians.

    She famous that the commencement marked the start of a lifelong dedication to service to the DCS that has a legacy of excellence in rehabilitating and reintegrating lives for a safer Jamaica.

    Ms. Martin expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Nationwide Safety, the Jamaica Defence Pressure, the Jamaica Constabulary Pressure, the Jamaica Fireplace Brigade and the HEART/NSTA Belief, for his or her steady help and partnership.
