Information Americas, New York, NY, Might 5, 2025: Jamaica’s largest photo voltaic power plant has simply been snapped up – marking a daring new transfer within the Caribbean’s clear power revolution.

InterEnergy Group, a high participant in Latin America and the Caribbean’s clear power sector, has formally acquired the Paradise Park photo voltaic plant from Eight Rivers Vitality Firm (EREC), boosting Jamaica’s renewable future and reinforcing its place as a regional power trailblazer.

Situated in Westmoreland, the 51 MWp facility is Jamaica’s largest photovoltaic (PV) plant, operational since 2019. It generates over 80 GWh of unpolluted electrical energy yearly and offsets greater than 13,500 tons of CO₂ – equal to powering 20,000 Jamaican houses yearly.

“This acquisition aligns with our imaginative and prescient for a extra sustainable power future,” stated Rolando González Bunster, InterEnergy’s CEO and Chairman. “Jamaica stands out as a exceptional instance of the transformative energy of unpolluted power.”

With this deal, InterEnergy’s complete renewable capability in Jamaica now exceeds 85 MW, and it’s not stopping there. The corporate has plans so as to add 110 MW of recent renewable tasks throughout the Caribbean and Central America—making it one of many largest regional drivers of unpolluted energy.

InterEnergy, already the biggest impartial energy producer in Jamaica, says this transfer strengthens each power reliability and sustainability.

“Our 250 MW thermal capability is the spine of nationwide stability,” stated Dr. Wayne McKenzie, InterEnergy’s Nation Supervisor for Jamaica. “With the addition of Paradise Park, we’re not simply increasing – we’re guaranteeing a safe and resilient power future for Jamaica.”

With greater than three a long time of expertise, InterEnergy operates throughout the Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, and extra. The corporate now boasts over 80% of its 2.5 GW portfolio in renewable and low-emission power, together with pure fuel, photo voltaic, and wind.

The Paradise Park acquisition is not only one other enterprise deal – it’s a robust sign that the Caribbean is leaning all-in on clear power innovation.
